Pfeiffer University sponsored the Stanly County Quiz Bowl at Gray Stone Day School on April 13.

Teams from Stanly Early College, West Stanly High School and Gray Stone Day School participated in the competition.

Teams demonstrate their extensive knowledge of multiple subjects including history, science, literature, art and current events in a “Jeopardy”-style format.

“Being a part of Quiz Bowl is a testament to the academic excellence of students who live in Stanly County. I am so glad we are able to help provide this platform for students to showcase their academic talents. All of the teams performed well and I am so appreciative to Pfeiffer University for their sponsorship of such a worth-while academic competition,” said Helen Nance, chief administrative officer at Gray Stone.

Gray Stone Day School finished first in the competition. Individual team members with the highest scores made up the All-County team Connor Towns, Lucas Starnes and Addy Grace Carter, all of Gray Stone, and Tim Karabet of Stanly Early College.
