Stanly County announced on Friday that Bailey Cline has accepted the county’s offer to become the new planning and zoning director.
The director is responsible for overseeing the enforcement of the county’s zoning and subdivision ordinances, the federally mandated floodplain management program and other land use related ordinances in the unincorporated areas of the county. Additionally, the director provides recommendations to assist the county commissioners with carrying out their land use goals.
Cline has a bachelor of science degree from Western Carolina and was employed by the county in the role of planning technician. Cline has been employed with the department since May 2019.
“The County interviewed multiple candidates, but Bailey’s extensive experience working in Stanly County, intimate knowledge of the county’s land use ordinances and excellent customer service skills helped to set her apart from other candidates during the recruitment process,” County Manager Andy Lucas said.
