Albemarle man faces murder charge after ‘road rage’ at Myrtle Beach

An Albemarle resident is facing a murder charge following what police are calling a “road rage incident” in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Around 10:49 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to the area of the 2300-Block of North Ocean Boulevard in regards to a shooting incident. A male victim did not survive his injuries, police said in a statement on the department’s Facebook page.
After investigation, it was learned the defendant was involved in a verbal altercation with an associate of the victim, stemming from a road rage incident. During the incident, the defendant fired his weapon fatally striking the victim.
Anthony Maurice Garner, 44, of Albemarle, has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
