The Town of Norwood provided an update on Lake Tillery this week.
The town has been notified by the NCDEQ Aquatic Weed Control Program of its recent efforts to address hydrilla issues in Lake Tillery.
They have advised that they successfully released 3,688 triploid grass carp at the Swift Island boat ramp May 21.
On May 8 they treated the areas around the boat ramps in Norwood and at Lilly’s Bridge with herbicide. They are planning to administer “bump” treatments of herbicide in these same areas in June and again in July to keep the herbicide at effective levels.
