Albemarle homicide suspect in custody; search continues for 2nd suspect

A suspect wanted in connection with a homicide that occurred on
Wednesday is now custody, Albemarle Police said Friday afternoon.
Damani Jacquez Wall, 18, of Albemarle, turned himself into Albemarle Police on Friday. Wall was booked into the Stanly County Jail on the charge of assault with a deadly weapon intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
At about 10:25 a.m. Wednesday, Albemarle Police responded to a reported shooting in the 1400 block of North Sixth Street. Upon arrival officers found Dy’Zavious Izayah Bivens, 18, of
Albemarle, deceased.
Police continue to search for Jamie Jermaine Mack, 18, of Kannapolis, who is wanted on the charge of assault with a deadly weapon intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
The case remains under investigation and additional charges may be filed.
Investigation indicates this was not a random act and that the parties involved were known to one another.
