The National Weather Service has issued an update on Tropical Storm Debby.

For Stanly County and other counties in the Piedmont, a flash flood warning is in effect until 2 p.m. Thursday, meaning flooding conditions have been spotted in these areas.

A flash flood watch is in effect through Friday evening, meaning flooding conditions remain possible.

Rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches have fallen across the watch area, with an additional 2-5 inches of rain expected throughout Friday.
