Forest Hills downs North Stanly

Forest Hills, ranked No. 11 among North Carolina 2A teams by MaxPreps, jumped to a 27-0 halftime lead on Monday night before holding off a rally by the visiting No. 26 North Stanly Comets in a 30-21 win.
Forest Hills outgained North Stanly in both passing (203) and rushing (157) yards. North Stanly gained 123 yards on the ground and 157 by air.
Defensively, Forest Hills limited the Comets to only one third down conversion on the night and forced one Comet turnover (an interception) while overcoming two turnovers (both fumbles) of its own.
North Stanly (3-2) will take on 1A Union Academy (4-1) this Friday in New London.
Union, which was idle this week, is coming off a 14-7 win over Trinity on Sept. 20.
Likewise, Forest Hills will remain at home, hosting Monroe (ranked No. 2 in 2A by MaxPreps) at 7 p.m. Friday.
