The West Stanly women’s basketball team improved to 11-12 overall and 6-3 in the Rocky River Conference with a 58-49 road win Friday at Anson County.

Raelee Furr led West with 15 points while Madelyn Huneycutt added 11 points and Kaley Furr just missed double figures in points, scoring nine. All eight of West players in the scorebook scored at least two points in the win.

Destiny Robinson led the Bearcats (8-10, 7-2 RRC) with 18 points.

The win for West pulls the Colts a game behind the Bearcats for second place in the standings. A win Friday for West combined with a loss for Anson would mean the two teams would potentially tie for second in the regular-season standings.

West Stanly hosts Mount Pleasant (6-17, 3-6) on Friday.
