Aquadale student trains for soccer in Spain

A second grader at Aquadale recently went to Spain to train for soccer.
Oli Yang, of Norwood, went this fall to Barcelona to train at the Barca Training Academy.
He was invited to attend along with 146 other kids ranging in ages 7-17. He was able to train with Barca coaches, take tours around the city, attend two professional games, attend seminars, meet professional players and scrimmage local Spanish club teams.
During the scrimmages, his team won three games and lost one. He had had three goals and one assist.
He says his favorite part of the experience was attending the professional games, meeting new friends and the scrimmages.
Yang is a part of South Stanly Futsal and Matrix FC. He has trained with coach Jody Ledezma since age 4.
He has been invited to train in Madrid, Spain next summer.
