Stanly resident named a finalist in Dream on 3 competition

A local financial advisor is a finalist in the Queen City Business of the Year competition.

Emma Moore

Emma Moore, of new Stanly County Chamber of Commerce member Thrivent Financial, was selected as a finalist through Dream on 3, a nonprofit organization which according to its website helps “make dreams come true for children with chronic illnesses, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or life-altering conditions by creating experiences of joy and magic through the world of sports.”

“Thrivent is a membership organization of Christians, and I was led to it because its values of service, faith and ethics closely align with mine,” Moore said. “I have worked in the finance field for over 20 years, but I joined Thrivent to more directly help individuals, families and businesses achieve financial clarity and strengthen their communities by living generously.”

Moore said Thrivent encourages members to give back to their communities. The organization also offers access to health discounts, grief support, workshops and more.

Moore also recently released her book “Become A Happyist.”

“[It] was written to empower others to create habits and learn behaviors that lead to happier and healthier lives,” Moore said. “With all the anger, hatred and negativity in the world, I wanted to do my small part to encourage people to embrace happiness and kindness.”

Moore said all the book’s proceeds for January will be donated to Dream On 3. The book is available on Amazon. It is free for Kindle Unlimited subscribers, $4.99 as an e-book and $6.99 as a paperback.
