Pfeiffer men’s soccer wins at Greensboro

The Pfeiffer University men’s soccer team scored a pair of goals late in the second half to earn a 3-2 road USA South win at Greensboro College on Sunday afternoon.

Pfeiffer opened the scoring in the 10th minute when senior Caz Dabrowski (Fuquay-Varina, N.C.) scored an unassisted goal to put Pfeiffer up 1-0.

Greensboro would tie the match at 1-1 in the 38th minute when Daril Mihindou beat Falcon goalkeeper Johvany Herrera (Concord, N.C.) to a loose ball in the center of the box.

After being tied at the half, Mihindou put the Pride up 2-1 in the 68th minute when he took a cross from teammate Shelly Scott and put it into the far corner of the goal, giving Greensboro the lead.

Pfeiffer’s Caleb Livengood (Thomasville, N.C.) knotted the match at 2-2 when he scored after taking a cross in a crowded box in the 85th minute.

The Falcon game winner came in the 90th minute when Caleb Bratager (Wake Forest, N.C.) scored unassisted for the game-winner.

Herrera made four saves for the Falcons in earning the win while Greensboro keeper Elmer Martinez took the loss, making a pair of saves.

The win improves Pfeiffer to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in league play while Greensboro dips to 3-2 and 2-2 in USA South play.

Pfeiffer will play again on Saturday, March 13, hosting Methodist at 6:00 p.m. in a USA South match at Lefko Field.
