The Albemarle Board of Education agreed Thursday night to lease a portion of the old South Albemarle School property to the City of Albemarle, including the South Albemarle gymnasium and athletic field.

Terms of the lease, which would run for five years, would see that the city would pay a nominal fee of $1 per year for the privilege of using the property, payable in advance.

During the terms of the lease, the city would maintain the property in good repair.
