National Weather Service issues flood watch for Stanly County
The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for an area including Stanly County.
The NWS says low pressure will track along a nearly stationary front over central North Carolina Thursday afternoon and evening, resulting in showers and thunderstorms with locally heavy rainfall. An additional 1-3 inches of rain will be possible.
This watch includes the cities of Hope Mills, Fayetteville, Spring Lake, Polkton, Graham, Archdale, Camp Mackall, Raeford, Winston-Salem, Angier, Burlington, Sanford, Laurinburg, Wake Forest, Aberdeen, Knightdale, Pinehurst, Hillsborough, Rougemont, Pittsboro, Albemarle, High Point, Dunn, Southern Pines, Greensboro, Carthage, Mebane, Lexington, Ellerbe, Rockingham, Lillington, Carrboro, Erwin, Apex, Durham, Troy, Buies Creek, Cary, Thomasville, Siler City, Wagram, Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Asheboro and Wadesboro.
