In Stanly football games tonight, South Stanly was at Jordan-Matthews while Albemarle traveled to Eastern Randolph.

The Bulls went over the .500 mark for the first time since the 2012 season and got five rushing touchdowns from Khris Mayo in a 31-point road win in Siler City over the Jets (0-3).

Defensively South Stanly (2-1) actually pitched a shutout in terms of not allowing Jordan-Matthews to score on offense. The only points for the hosts Friday night came on an interception return for a touchdown.

South Stanly hosts West Stanly (1-2) next week.

Eastern Randolph 50, Albemarle 0

The Bulldogs suffered the team’s first shutout since not scoring in Week 4 last season in Friday’s road game in Ramseur versus the Wildcats (3-0).

Albemarle gained 84 yards in the game, including 80 rushing yards on 24 carries. Quarterback Manaurian Hall led the Bulldogs with 23 yards on five carries, while Eli McCall had 19 yards on six attempts. Albemarle lost one fumble in the game as well.

Through the air, Hall and Levi Nall combined to go 1-for-6 for four yards passing. Hall was 0-for-3 with an interception while Nall had the lone completion to Christian Watkins.

Defensively, Albemarle got two quarterback sacks, one each from Makhi Hall and Brandon Smith. For the game, Smith had two solo tackles and five assists, while Brandon Chrisitan had two solo tackles and he assisted on three others. Christian also had two tackles for a loss. Josh Smith led the Bulldogs with three solo tackles.

Albemarle (0-3) is off this week and hosts Union Pines (2-1 ) on Sept. 14. The Vikings play at Randleman Friday.
