Pfeiffer Women’s Soccer Gets 4-1 Win Over N.C. Wesleya

The Pfeiffer women’s soccer team improved to 10-2 on the season and 6-1 in USA South play with their fifth consecutive win in a 4-1 triumph over N.C. Wesleyan at a soggy Lefko Field on Saturday afternoon.

In the 12th minute Cayci Eaton supplied a pass toMackenzie Pruitt who then rifled a shot past the NCWC goalkeeper to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead.

Less than eight minutes later, Eaton got into the scoring column by scoring an unassisted goal for her seventh of the season, putting Pfeiffer up 2-0.

The Pfeiffer lead grew to 3-0 just before halftime when Kelsy Esquivel scored.

N.C. Wesleyan got on the board in the 80th minute, when Maggie Rankin scored to make it 3-1, but the Falcons responded with another Esquivel goal, her fourth of the season in the 85th minute.

Falcons goalkeeper Kaley Hyatt made four saves on the afternoon to improve to 10-2 overall while Alicia Jacobs took the loss for N.C. Wesleyan, who falls to 4-8-1 overall and 2-5 in USA South play.

The Falcons will return to play at Lefko Field on Wednesday at 5 p.m. against Brevard.
