Donald Ray Herring, 63, of Troy, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018 at his home on Lake Tillery.
His funeral service will be 2 PM Wednesday, November 21, 2018 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Preacher Adam Craddock officiating. Burial will follow in Stanly Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle from 6 until 8 PM.

Donald Herring

Born October 14, 1955 in Robeson County, NC he was the son of the late Elray Herring and Lula Mae Lovette Herring.
He was a truck driver for over 40 years and spent his last 10 years working with Tidewater Transit. Mr. Herring was of the Baptist Faith. He was a former team roper in the Rodeo. He enjoyed doing pony and horse rides at festivals throughout surrounding counties. His favorite place, of course, being Patterson’s Farm in China Grove.
Mr. Herring is survived by his wife Diana Lynn Mullins Herring of the home, 3 sons Johnathan Ray Herring (Starra) of Oakboro, Andy Wayne Herring (Amanda) of Mt. Pleasant, Jonathan Willie Ray Stidham (Candace) of Morganton, 2 brothers Steve Edward Herring (Kimberly) and Mark Allen Herring (Susan) of Monroe, 5 grandchildren Kaylee, Adam, Brianna, Caylin, and Abigail, and 2 great-grandchildren, Paislee and Max.
Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle is entrusted with arrangements.
