David Allen Smith, Sr., 69, of Albemarle, NC, passed away Tuesday November 20, 2018 in Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House, Salisbury, NC.
His funeral service will be 11 AM Friday, November 23, 2018 in the Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care Chapel of Albemarle with Rev. Mike Lisk officiating. Burial will follow in Stanly Gardens of Memory.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM prior to the service.
David was born October 27, 1949 in Stanly County, NC and was the son of the late Carl Theron Smith and Alice Louise Lee Smith.
He was a retired employee of Lorch Heating and Plumbing and a Veteran of the United States Navy.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife Lenora Cranford Smith.
Survivors include a son David Allen Smith, Jr. of Albemarle, NC; two daughters Lisa Whitley of Durham, NC and Mitzi Hatley (Dustin) of Norwood, NC; brother Joe Smith (Shirley) of Albemarle, NC; a sister Judy Poplin (Larry) of Albemarle, NC; brother-in- law David Hatley of Albemarle, NC; sister- in- law Linda Smith of Oakboro, NC; three grandchildren Michael Harrison, Jodie Burris and Brooke F. Davis; three great-grandchildren Lia Rose Davis, Savvanah Burleson and Cameron Burleson.
David was also preceded in death by a son William Whitley, a brother W.F. Smith and a sister Carlene Hatley.
