Fred ‘Freddie’ Melvin Thompson, Jr., 61, of China Grove, passed away on Tuesday November 20, 2018.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday November 28, 2018 at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood. Frank Thompson will officiate and burial will follow at Zion Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Freddie was born in Stanly County on March 18, 1957 to the late Fred Melvin Sr. and Jean Albright Thompson.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Tommy and Timmy Thompson and his sister Connie Thompson.
He is survived by his brother, Ronald Thompson of China Grove; Aunts and Uncles including Paul and Frank Thompson, Henrietta Mabry, and Ethel Davis, all of Stanly County; and Doris McRae of Mt. Gilead.
