Schools reschedule games

Weekend ice and wintry conditions forced the closing of Stanly County Schools for two days, affecting changes to the high school sports calendar.
Albemarle was scheduled to host Uwharrie Charter Tuesday, but the games have been moved to Jan. 10, 2019. South Stanly and North Rowan’s basketball games were pushed back from Tuesday to Thursday.
North Stanly was traveling to East Rowan on Wednesday night, but with Rowan County Schools still closed those games were postponed. A makeup date had not been scheduled as of press time.
