Jerrell Douglas Bunting

Jerrell Douglas Bunting, 75, of Albemarle, NC died Thursday December 13, 2018, peacefully at Carolinas Healthcare Stanly after a one-year struggle with complications related to diabetes.
Born February 2, 1943, in Albemarle, NC, he was the only son of the late Paul Norman and Esther Lowder Bunting and the husband of his beloved late wife Claudia Hall Bunting.
Jerrell grew up in Albemarle and was a graduate of Albemarle High School and Campbell College.
He lived his entire life in Albemarle where he loved all kinds of sports, as both a player and a coach. He spent many years playing softball well into his 40s. He taught at Oakboro Elementary school and served the City of Albemarle in several capacities, including as a police officer. He was a talented wood worker and built many things with tools in his workshop.
Jerrell loved his family dearly, especially his two sons. Surviving Jerrell are his; son, Kevin Douglas Bunting and wife Silvia Tse Bunting (of Atlanta, GA); son, Jeffrey Paul Bunting (of Mint Hill, NC) and granddaughter, Cynthia Tse Bunting (of Miami, FL), uncle Kent Bunting, aunt Alene Brooks, and many dear cousins.
The family will receive friends Sunday, December 16 from 1-2 p.m. at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care, followed by a Memorial Service at 2pm, conducted by Rev. Ron Loflin.
