The Albemarle women’s basketball team had a huge night from one senior in a lopsided 69-37 YVC home win Friday night over the Uwharrie Charter Eagles.

Armani Baldwin had a triple double to lead the Bulldogs (14-1, 7-0 YVC). The senior was 13-of-26 from the field including 3-of-8 on three-pointers and led the Bulldogs (14-1, 7-0 YVC) with 30 points. She also added 10 rebounds and 11 steals.

Tameya Newton and Shada Wall each scored 15 points for Albemarle. Newton was 5-of-13 from the three-point arc and also pulled down 10 boards, while Wall was 5-of-10 from the field and 5-of-6 at the foul line.

Kiana Ridley also reached double figures in rebounds for the Bulldogs with 10 boards along with five steals.

Natalie Beeson and Mia Leonard both scored 14 points each to lead Uwharrie Charter (6-10, 2-6).

The win for Albemarle came without one of the team’s scoring threats, Zycoria Tillman. The senior guard, who recently broke the 1,000-point plateau for her career with the Bulldogs, suffered a concussion against South Davidson. Her status for this Friday’s game versus North Rowan has not yet been determined.
