The West Stanly men’s basketball team’s season records overall and conference both dropped to the .500 mark in a 78-40 road loss to the 2A’s third-ranked team, the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets.

Hayden Greene led West (10-10, 3-3 RRC) with 12 points; he now has 930 career points as a Colt. Austin Medlin added 10 points for the Colts as well.

Nas Tyson led four in double figures for the Yellow Jackets (18-2, 6-0) with 20 points.

“We did not match their energy and got careless with the ball; you can’t do that against a team of their caliber,” West head coach John Thompson said.

The Colts have four conference games left this season including Friday’s road game at Central Academy.
