Pfeiffer puts five in double figures in road win

Pfeiffer University had five players score in double figures including 44 points from senior Kyle Riddley as the Falcons bolted past Greensboro College in men’s basketball action on Wednesday night in Greensboro.

Riddley, from Charlotte, continued his torrid scoring pace, going 13-of-19 from the field and 16-of-21 from the free throw line. He also secured 12 rebounds to post the double-double.  He had five assists.

Josiah Avington knocked down six 3-pointers and was a perfect 3-of-3 from the foul line, scoring 21 points. Tyjarek Simmons and Blake Smith also got into the long-range scoring action, with Simmons hitting five 3-pointers and Smith four from distance, with the duo scoring 15 and 14 respectively.  Craig Sabb also had a great night, pouring in 11 in the win.

As a team, Pfeiffer hit 17 3-pointers on the night, with six players dialing in from long range.

The win improves the Falcons to 12-12 on the season while Greensboro drops to 3-21.

Pfeiffer will close the 2018-19 season Saturday in a non-conference road game at Johnson University in Knoxville, Tenn.
