Richard Lowder, 74, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, February, 23, 2019 at his home.
He was born on July 24, 1944, in Albemarle, NC and was known for his love of cars and tinkering on about anything, gardening, and his sweet dog, Piper.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Clara Lowder; a brother, Tony W. Lowder; and sister, Elva Pollack.
He is survived by his wife Sandra C. Lowder, of Albemarle; his three daughters: Kimberly Kennedy of Stanfield; Kristy Hogsed (Tim) of Mint Hill; and Donna Lowder of Concord; Grandchildren Alexa, Jordan, and Jake Kennedy of Stanfield; Two sisters, Geraldine Sides of Albemarle, and Kayla Sides of New London; and a very special niece, Wanda Kay and her husband, Mike Mixon.
The family will hold a memorial service at 3 pm, Thursday, February 28th at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Albemarle. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 pm Thursday at the church prior to service.
