Bessie Jane Whitley Hill of Stanly Manor, Albemarle, NC journeyed home on February 28, 2019 to join her heavenly father at the age of 95.
As in life, she was surrounded by her family during her transition.
Our family wishes to thank the staff of Stanly Manor for their loving care of her over the last 8 years.
Bessie was born October 30, 1923 to the late Alonzo and Mary Eudy Whitley.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Hill; son-in-law, Donnie M. Thompson; brothers, Vernon Whitley, Floyd Whitley, Vance Whitley, Wade Whitley, Craven Whitley; sisters, Auta Belle Clark, Delaine Eudy.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:45 pm, Monday, March 4, 2019 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Rev. Danny Laws. Burial will conclude at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 17236 Frog Pond Road, Oakboro.
Survivors include: son, Robert (Judy) Hill; daughter, Sylvia Thompson; grandson, Todd (Amanda) Thompson; granddaughters, Tonya (Gigi) Thompson, Kellie DeMayo; great-grandchildren, Alex Thompson, Erin Thompson, Brooklyn, Cole DeMayo, Sophia DeMayo, Blake DeMayo, Olivia DeMayo; sisters, Carolyn Furr, Lynda Allmond; several nieces and nephews.
