Sheriff’s Office says man wanted after shooting into house

Stanly County Sheriff’s Office has warrants out for a man after receiving a domestic disturbance call shortly after noon Tuesday.

Capt. Chris Huneycutt said the incident happened at 12705 Cottonville Road in Norwood. Demecus Rhmad Hooker Jr., 21, of Albemarle is wanted for discharging a firearm into an occupied property and communicating threats against his ex-girlfriend, Huneycutt said.
Stanly County Schools put South Stanly High School and South Stanly Middle School on lockdown for a short period due to their proximity to the shooting location.
“It was determined he had left [the area] prior to our arrival,” Huneycutt said.
No one was injured in the shooting.
