Shooting suspect sought, schools on lockdown

Norwood Police Chief James Wilson confirmed a shooting happened Tuesday.

No one was injured in the shooting.

When reached by The Stanly News & Press, Wilson said he, Norwood officers and members of Stanly County Sheriff’s Office were hunting for the suspect.

Stanly County Schools Superintendent Dr. Jeff James confirmed South Stanly High School and South Stanly Middle School have been placed on lockdown due to an incident in the community.
