Oakboro street closed until further notice
Railroad Street in Oakboro is permanently closed due to modifications.
Officials at the N.C. Department of Transportation say the street is shut down to modify the intersection of First Street and Main Street.
During the project, N.C. Highway 205 will be realigned to intersect with Main Street, instead of Second Street. A new traffic light will also be added at the intersection of Saint Martin Road and Main Street.
NCDOT officials say the project could take several months. Drivers are asked to be cautious in this area, as traffic congestion is expected to increase at certain times.
