N.C. Highway Patrol said an individual is in custody following a foot chase Wednesday afternoon.

Highway Patrol Sgt. E.T. Phillips said a person is in custody after a car accident near the McDonald’s on N.C. Highway 24-27 in Locust. The person fled the accident on foot, Phillips said, and was located after a search involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

The individual was taken to a hospital for injuries sustained in the wreck. Phillips said charges are pending.

He said more detailed information will be available Thursday.
