At this month’s meeting of the Stanly County Board of Commissioners, the board passed a county rezoning request on a 16.88-acre tract of land located at 8504 Swift Road from residential/agricultural to industrial.

The 11 requests by Oakmont will include requests to change to industrial-type zones for plots of land at:

  • 8504 Swift Road;
  • 16858 Silver Road;
  • 11366 Shinn Road;
  • 11350 Shinn Road;
  • 712 N. Pine Street; and
  • 405 W. 8th Street.

Other requests from Oakmont include two tracts of land on Silver Road and an additional tract on Lighthouse Road.

In a separate public hearing, Joseph Burleson has requested on behalf of Debra Cress for the rezoning of 19 acres on the south side of Hatley Burris Road to change from RA to R9. The request comes as part of Phase III of the Forest Creek Subdivision.
