Officials at Oakboro Town Hall confirmed by phone Monday the cancellation of the March meeting of the town council.

The meeting was cancelled due to general concerns associated with the coronavirus.

A public hearing had been scheduled for Monday night in regards to the rezoning of 11 parcels of land from residential to industrial. The land is owned by Oakmont Acquisitions LLC, a subsidiary of Charlotte Pipe and Foundry.

The meeting will now be April 20, with a public hearing starting at 7 p.m. and the regular meeting to follow.
