According to an email Monday afternoon from Stanly County Schools’ Athletic Director Beverly Pennington, Friday’s home opening varsity football game between North Stanly and West Stanly has been postponed.

The reason given for the postponement was the schools are following the COVID-19 protocols set forth by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association.

Friday’s game has been postponed but “permission has been granted by the NCHSAA to exceed the weekly limitation in order to reschedule this competition.”

As of Monday afternoon, the game had not yet been rescheduled.
