Public meeting scheduled regarding Parker Mine permit application

New London citizens will have the opportunity to express their opinions regarding the recent state application for a mining permit for the Parker Mine.w

The New London Town Hall will host a virtual meeting at 6 p.m. Monday between members of the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality, Division of Energy, Mineral and Land Resources and citizens.

Adam Parr, assistant state mining engineer, will be representing the NCDEQ at the meeting.

People wishing to speak at the meeting must pre-register by clicking on the following link: ( https://bit.ly/2QZBdQO  ). Comments may be submitted in writing via email to: ncminingprogram@ncdenr.gov.

The Town Hall will be available for citizens to speak in the meeting, but they must pre-register first.
