A new land use plan for the southern part of Stanly County is being developed by county staff in the Planning Department as part of an update to the overall land use plan.

At an upcoming event in Norwood, citizens will have the opportunity to put their two cents worth in.

The Norwood Town Hall will host an open house 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday on the Stanly County Comprehensive Use Plan 2040.

A drop-in event, people may come and voice their opinions on what changes are made to the plan. Light refreshments will be served. There will be activities for children.

For those unable to attend in person, a community survey is also available for citizens to use, both online and in paper form. The online survey is at www.surveymonkey.com/r/stanlycounty while paper surveys may be obtained in person at the town hall. Citizens are asked to complete the surveys by May 6. Paper surveys will also be available at the open house.
