RRC baseball, softball tournaments open today

The postseason baseball and softball tournaments of the Rocky River Conference open with games today.

Baseball

In games today at the higher seeds, No. 3 Central Academy (10-10, 8-7 RRC) hosts No. 6 Monroe (2-18, 0-15) while No. 4 Anson Senior (5-15, 5-10) hosts the fifth seed, Forest Hills (7-14, 5-10).

Wednesday’s semifinals will be hosted by the top seed, Parkwood (17-6, 14-1) who will play the Anson/Forest Hills winner at 7 p.m. No. 2 seed West Stanly (19-5, 13-2) will play the Central/Monroe winner at 4:30.

Friday’s finals will start at 7 p.m. at Parkwood.

Softball

One game opens the tournament today as No. 4 seed Central Academy (8-10, 3-5) hosts No. 5 Forest Hills (2-17, 0-8).

Parkwood (8-11, 3-5), the No. 3 seed, received a bye in the first round and will play No. 2 seed Anson (12-7, 6-2) at 5 p.m. Wednesday at West Stanly.

The Colts (20-3, 8-0 RRC), the No. 1 seed and hosts of the tournament, play at 7 p.m. Wednesday against the Central / Forest Hills winner.

West will host the RRC tourney finals Friday at 6 p.m.
