A woman who was reported missing last Sunday has made contact with her family.

Locust Police Chief Jeff Shew said Tara Rush Norton, 52, “is no longer considered missing and has been removed from the missing person’s database.”

“She contacted the Communications center Wednesday night and spoke with one of our officers and we were able to confirm it was her,” Shew said in an email Friday. “Her daughter has also spoken to her and said she is fine.”

Police had searched this week for Norton, who was last seen at 6 p.m. Jan. 15 voluntarily getting into a pickup truck.
