An Albemarle resident died Tuesday night after his vehicle hit a retaining wall and overturned, police said.
Albemarle Police responded around 9:45 p.m. of a report of a collision in the downtown area of Pee Dee Avenue and North Fifth Street.
Police determined that a 2003 Ford F-350 was traveling northeast on Pee Dee Avenue when the driver, Tanner Wayne House, lost control and ran off the road, then hitting a retaining wall and overturning.
House, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle was treated and released on scene.
Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
Family and friend of House have created two GoFundMe pages to help his family with funeral expenses.
