At the meeting of the Stanly County Planning Board July 24, the board will consider recommendation of a new ordinance regarding minimum lot sizes in rural areas.

Per the board’s agenda released this week, the ordinance looks to revise section 701 of the county’s ordinance to “require parcels located in the Rural Preservation Area per the 2040 Stanly County Land Use Plan to have a larger minimum lot size and setback areas.”

The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Gene McIntyre meeting room at Stanly Commons.
