The Town of Red Cross swore in a new town clerk at Monday’s meeting of the town council and added a new alternate for its planning board.

With a unanimous vote, the council approved Shannon Alberta, an East Brunswick, New Jersey native now living in Albemarle, as the third-ever clerk for the town since being incorporated 21 years ago.
