SCS announces maintenance director hiring, confirms resignation of EC director

Stanly County Schools announced a hiring Wednesday and confirmed the resignation of a member of the central office.

Dr. Laura Holland, director of exceptional children department for Stanly County Schools, tendered her resignation, according to Stanly County Schools Superintendent Dr. Jarrod Dennis.

Holland has accepted a position with Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools as senior executive director of instructional services.

SCS also announced a new director of maintenance has been hired, pending the processing of paperwork.

Keith Benton, a project manager of 17 years with Union County Public Schools, will be the new director. He will replace Todd Bowers, who will retire Oct. 1 after 17 years with SCS.
