On Jan. 11, 2024, the one-year anniversary of her death, the University community dedicated Jane Freeman Hall Room 111 in her memory.

“Honoring Lily allows us to maintain a sense of connection to her. This seminar room creates a lasting tribute that symbolizes her love for life and learning. It serves as a reminder of the impact that she had on our campus. It will continue to provide students with a warm, welcoming learning environment as they pursue their quest for knowledge at Pfeiffer,” said Rev. Marcy Mynatt, interim university chaplain.

“Pfeiffer is full of hope and aspiration, and so was Lily,” said Pfeiffer President Dr. Scott Bullard. “Sadly, when a community experiences a tragedy such as this, it impacts the entire campus. This could have been any of us. Lily reminds us that how we use our time matters. Although Lily was on campus for a brief time, her positive impact is evident in the lives of her peers.”
