First Bank has announced plans to close one of its branches in Albemarle.

The branch at 1910 E. Main St. will consolidate into the branch at 2317 U.S. Highway 52 North on May 10.

“We certainly will not be exiting this community, though,” Hillary Kestler, SVP, director of public relations, said by email. “We are retaining all of our team members from the Albemarle Eastgate location and they will be relocating to the Highway 52 location, so the same faces and friends that have been serving you will still do so.

“We understand the concerns of the community and our customers, but we can assure you that we will still be active and present in the community and appreciate the long standing relationships that we have built in the entire area.”

The First Bank branches in Locust and Richfield will remain open.

“We will continue to serve these communities the way we currently do. We appreciate all of our customers and their understanding as well as the team members working on this project,” Kestler said.
