A senior center for the West Stanly men’s basketball team etched his name into the program’s record books this season.

Austin Eudy recorded 89 blocks, the most for any player in NCHSAA Class 2A basketball, and set the school record for blocks in a season.

“I am honored and blessed to be acknowledged as the current men’s basketball block leader in the state 2A division,” Eudy said. “In addition, I am excited to claim the school record for blocks in a season. I ended my senior year with an all-conference honor.”

Regarding his future, Eudy said, “I am undecided about my college of choice, where I plan to pursue a business degree. I am very appreciative of my coaches, family and friends for their support during my high school career.”

“Austin is a top student, three-sport athlete and a fine young man. He is a great example of a Colt Athlete and an exemplary teammate,” West Stanly athletic director Chad Yow said via email. “We are super proud of Austin and this accomplishment.”

West Stanly was 12-14 this season, finishing fifth in the Rocky River Conference.
