Stanly seniors fall at Greensboro

The Stanly County N.C. 3 senior baseball team lost on the road Friday night at Greensboro, 9-5.

Stanly (1-2, 1-1 league) led 4-1 in the middle of the fourth inning before Greensboro scored eight runs over the next five innings, collecting 18 hits in the win.

Cody Kidd led the offense for Stanly going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs. Brady Parker added two hits including an double and an RBI single in the ninth inning. Jack Foley and Trevor Tucker each drove in a run for Stanly.

Cam Bowers took the loss in relief on the mound for Stanly while Johnathan Todd allowed three earned runs on six hits in eight innings earning the win for Greensboro.

Stanly goes to Rowan County Sunday night.
