Stanly Health Foundation offers two scholarship opportunities

College students will have two opportunities to apply for scholarships from the Stanly Health Foundation in 2019 to help support their studies in healthcare.

The Stanly Health Foundation Roy and Lou Hinson Scholarship will provide an award of $2,500 to help defray the cost of tuition for an Atrium Health Stanly teammate, the dependent of a teammate, or a resident of Stanly or Montgomery counties who will have completed at least 60 hours of undergraduate study with a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.2 or higher.

The student must be accepted into a healthcare program of study for either undergraduate or graduate school.

The Hinson Scholarship celebrates the late Roy Hinson’s 41 years of service to the hospital, and his wife, Lou, who is retired from public education and provided many years of volunteer support to the Roy M. Hinson Cancer Center.

The Stanly Health Foundation C.B. Crook Family Scholarship will provide an award of $5,000 to help defray the cost of tuition for a student from Stanly or Montgomery counties or an Atrium Health Stanly teammate who will have completed at least 60 hours of undergraduate with a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.2 or higher.

The student must be accepted into a healthcare program of study for either undergraduate or graduate school.

The Crook Family Scholarship honors the community involvement of the late C.B. Crook and his wife, Betty. The Crooks were philanthropic champions of the Foundation and Mr. Crook chaired the Stanly Society Committee for more than 20 years.

To be considered, the application and required submissions must be received in the Stanly Health Foundation office by May 15.
