3 Bouncing Bees children’s boutique opens in Locust

The Stanly County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony Saturday for 3 Bouncing Bees, a new children’s boutique at 1780 W. Main St. in Locust.

Store owners Amber and Andrew Brattain opened the store in part when they realized Stanly did not have many children’s boutiques.

“We decided there a was a great need for (a store) so that people didn’t have to travel to the Charlotte and Concord area,” Amber Brattain said. “(We) wanted to bring something a little closer to home that could offer some higher quality items for all of our children.”

The store’s name comes from the Brattains’ two boys, Lyric and Ellis. Amber said when Ellis was born, his older brother, Lyric, called him “B Ellis” because he could not say the word “baby.” With a third son, Silas, due in September, the family will have three bouncing baby boys, hence the name 3 Bouncing Bees.

“Bouncing just fell into the name as it came along,” Amber said.

Taking cues from their potential customers, she said the store will sell “high quality products that people already know or have expressed they would like to see.” The store will offer a variety of sizes, color schemes and patterns, prints and solids.

“We just really wanted to arrange something of everything so it would be a one-stop shop when they do come for whatever their needs may be,” Amber said.

The store will carry Little Sleepies, DockATot, BinkyBro hats, Copper and Pearl, Loulou Lollipop and more.

Store hours for 3 Bouncing Bees will be 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.
