Former Monarch manager receives probation

A woman charged with eight counts of embezzlement was recently sentenced to 24 months probation.

Megan Nicole Pilkins, charged last year for embezzling money from Cohen Group Home in Norwood from January to November 2017, received deferred prosecution as part of a plea agreement.

To meet the terms of the agreement, Pilkins must pay a total of $5,216.45, including $4,593.95 in restitution.

Pilkins also received 48 hours of community service which must be completed in one year.

She was also ordered to submit a letter of apology to the district attorney’s office.

In 12 months, she will be eligible to switch to unsupervised probation.

Upon completion of the terms of the agreement, the charges will be dismissed.

Pilkins worked for the Monarch home for more than eight years. She was a former resident manager of the Cohen Group Home and Montgomery Adult Group Home in Troy, both Monarch facilities.
