Pfeiffer Men’s Lacrosse blasts Brevard 25-2

The Pfeiffer University men’s lacrosse team raced out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter and led 18-0 at halftime in a blowout win over Brevard College on Wednesday night at Lefko-Mills Field in Misenheimer.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Pfeiffer wasted no time in jumping on the visiting Tornados, scoring just three minutes into the game on a Zach Gignac unassisted goal. From there, Pfeiffer reeled off nine more first quarter goals.

The lead quickly grew to 18-0 at halftime.

Pfeiffer would enjoy a 20-0 lead before Brevard got on the board at 1:34 of the third quarter to bring the score to 20-1. Pfeiffer scored the first three goals of the fourth quarter, two of which were player-up scores to boost the lead to 23-1.

Brevard’s second and final goal of the game game with just two seconds left to provide the 23-2 final.

Inside the Box Score

Pfeiffer had 12 players score, with senior Quinn Becraft leading the way with five goals and a pair of assists. Dylan Bryson and Zach Gignac each had three goals, with Gignac also providing an assist. Jared Buter, Zach DeFazio and Khyler Johnson would each score twice on the afternoon.

Five Falcon goalkeepers played in the game, with freshman Oliver Buch earning the win while making one save.

Up Next

The Falcons will return to play on Wednesday at 5 p.m. for a USA South game at Methodist University in Fayetteville.
