A local educator has organized a pop-up prom and formal shopping event.

The event will be at Endy Elementary School, 27670 Betty Road, Albemarle, from 2-6 p.m. March 2 and 1-4 p.m. March 3.

It is open to all middle and high school students in Stanly County Schools.

All dresses are under $50. The dresses retail for $150 to $1,200, with sizes 0 to 26 in many colors and styles.

“Whether they are looking for a prom, formal or graduation dress, students are welcome to come enjoy this event,” organizer and Endy principal Jodi Autry said.

While the event is at Endy, Autry said it is not affiliated with SCS.

“I have purchased hundreds of dresses for young women to browse and try on,” she said. “The majority of the dresses were purchased throughout the last year in preparation for this event. With the help of some local donations, the number of dresses continues to grow. My goal is that students feel confident and excited for graduation or the end of the year activities that they have worked so hard to achieve.”
