STATE: King of Tillery fishing tournament returns in April

The largest catfish tournament in North Carolina with the biggest payouts is returning as The 2nd Annual King of Tillery will be 7 p.m.-8 a.m. April 30 at Swift Island Boat Landing in Mt. Gilead.

There were 123 boats and $17,000 was paid out last year, with the winners taking home $10,000.

Entry fees are $120 entry fee per boat and $20 Big Fish per team, paying out the top five teams. The tournament giveaway will include thousands of dollars in fishing rods, apparel, gear and more from sponsors.
